Small Steps, Big Change

About the LTT4

​

Day 1: Morning: Arrival and Welcome Activities "Eco-Explorer" City Treasure Hunt: Teams will explore the city with an interactive checklist, spotting examples of good and bad sustainability practices, such as: Energy-efficient buildings, Recycling bins (or lack of them!), Bike lanes & public transport, Pollution sources. Each team will document their findings with photos and short videos to present later. Afternoon: Visit a zero-waste store to learn about plastic-free shopping and eco-friendly packaging. Students buy food using only reusable or compostable materials. Making homemade toothpaste, deodorant, and natural soap without harmful chemicals.

Day 2: Morning: Visit a solar farm or wind energy site to see how Romania is transitioning to green energy. Teams build mini solar cookers and test them with snacks! Afternoon: How small changes at home (better lighting, heating, insulation) save energy. Teams inspect an indoor space (a school, café, or hostel) and find 10 ways to reduce energy waste.

Day 3: Morning: Field Trip to the Carpathian Mountains, learn about local plants, wildlife, and their role in climate adaptation. Students carry a sustainability checklist to observe and compare nature’s resilience across different areas. Afternoon: Outdoor Survival and Climate Adaptation Skills Survival skills and eco-friendly camping techniques, including building an eco-friendly shelter with natural materials, learning how to cook outdoors without harming the environment, navigation and teamwork skills for finding sustainable solutions in nature.

Day 4: Morning: Teams brainstorm practical ideas for schools and communities, such as: A “Lights-Off” challenge to save energy, Green Rooftops and Urban Gardens for schools, etc. Afternoon: Teams visit local markets to compare: Locally grown food vs. imported food, Fair-trade & ethical products,Ecofriendly vs. single-use plastic packaging. Each team will presents their action plans, photos, videos Closing and certificates
